Our Winnie=Bird!

Oh! I almost forgot our very own bird! Meet Winnie-Bird! He is a 9 year old Cockatiel. Very spoiled, very cute, and usually very well behaved. He loves to sit on your shoulder while you watch T.V. and also likes to perch on your finger as you scratch his neck!

He is very talkative and says many words and phrases, like 'Good Boy" 'What you doin?'' Who's a good Winnie-Bird" he also whistles God save the queen and many other things that he learns from listening to the telly while we are at work. He's adorable!

Squirrels on our back deck!

This is a view from our kitchen out onto our deck, as you can see, if you leave nuts or fruit out the squirrels (who live in our roof) will quite happily eat as you watch. They come up to the door and scratch at it when they want more food!

The Peabody Hotel in Memphis, Tennessee

Here are a couple of pictures from a hotel in Memphis (Home of Elvis!), the ducks live on the roof in an oasis they made for the ducks, and every day they take a red carpet to the foyer, and stay in the Fountain, then at 5 p.m. they gey back in the lift and go back to the roof! Really cool!

Here's a sign you probably don't see often in the U.K. Here, almost every park and forest has signs like these posted. Don't worry, as long as you leave them alone they generally leave you alone too! Which is good! Haha!

Hummingbird Feeding;

This one shows one of the Hummingbirds leaving the feeder. The funny thing was that there is another family of HB's who would occasionally try to chase the resident family away, and they would zoom several times around the flower planter to the left of the feeder. It was really cool to be that close to such an amazing and tiny creature. The average size we saw was maybe 2.5 inches.

This is a picture of one of a family of Hummingbirds that live in Connecticut, in the garden of a beautiful Guest House we frequent! They are literally 5 or six feet from the porch and are not in the slightest bit bothered by humans being so close!
